New reviews... - May 10, 2008

Thanks to Jeremy Searle for his review of "MTW" on Americana UK. Also, if you are privvy to issues of Maverick Magazine (UK), we're reviewed in the June issue (can be found online and at Barnes & Noble stores). Thanks to Amy Atkins of the Boise Weekly, Michael Swanger of the Des Moines City View and Patricia Sindelar of the Omaha Reader for recent previews of our shows!
If you're in Seattle, you can pick up the May issue of The Victory Review, thanks to Tom Peterson for the review!

"Seattle’s Starlings second album is that ava raris, a work has the musical development so beloved of critics and reviewers while retaining the sound and style of their debut to keep fans who know what they like happy." -Americana UK

Great write-up in the Idaho Statesmen - April 25, 2008

Thanks to Michael Deeds for the article in The Idaho Statesman! Great way to kick off the tour. "It's rootsy music with a simple beauty. It's a Seattle band with a small-town aura...Mills' timeless, gorgeous voice is the driving force behind the Starlings' twangy serenity. Her husband, singer-guitarist Tom Parker, is no slouch, either. When the two harmonize as a banjo gets plucked in the background, it's a truly wonderful blend."

Folk Alley Featured Artist For April - April 22, 2008

We're the featured artist on Folk Alley's Open Mic for April. Folk Alley is a listener-supported, online radio streaming 24/7. Check it out here.

Countdown time... - April 19, 2008

We're about to hit the road for 6 months! Our band line-up will fluctuate with different legs of the journey, you can keep up with our adventures on our specially-created blog as well as on our Myspace. See you out there!

CD Release! - January 31, 2008

Hey folks - boy, it feels good to be able to announce the CD Release party for "Marveling the While." We're having it at The Tractor Tavern on Saturday, April 5 at 6:30pm. Yup, it's an early show, early so as to welcome all our friends and fans who find it a bit disconcerting to have to watch a headliner at 11pm. This will also be a seated show, with opener Zoe Muth (my new favorite songwriter), so I hope you can save the date and be there to help us celebrate this new album. Rumor has it our producer and good buddy Chad Hinman will be up from Portland to perform with us. There will be an announcement soon that "MTW" is available online for purchase. We also have scheduled special release shows on Bainbridge Island (March 29) and Portland's Mississippi Studios (April 12), so let your friends know if they live in the area. Thanks a heap for your support, and see you out there soon!

P.S. Big plans perch on the horizon for a 6-month national tour, beginning in May. If you've peeked at our calendar, you can see what I'm talking about.

Back from the AMA conference - November 6, 2007

New blog posted on our myspace. We've completed mixing of the album, and I had a great time in Nashville at the Americana Music Association conference, you can read all about it on the blog. Two more shows this month before Miss Aimee Zoe embarks on her 3-month trip to India! Then, December 5, the trio will be opening for Eilen Jewell at The Tractor. See you out there...
